In this presentation, I will speak about how I helped program stakeholders reach their intended destination by building a bridge to their data.  The goal of the project, called Check It Out, was to increase health and development screening and referrals for children prior to school entry. The purpose of the project was to test three different service delivery models. When I was brought in, the data had already been collected. The barrier was that current staff did not have the expertise or capacity to make sense of what the data was saying based on the multiple data collection tools used. Without this understanding, the stakeholders were unable to move forward with the launch and dissemination of Check it Out. In my role as an evaluator, I helped to weave the disparate pieces of data into a story that made sense to the stakeholders. In addition, I strengthened my interpersonal practice by building strong relationships with my stakeholders. The data entry issues we encountered and resolved also built on my technical skills as an evaluator.
