Public Safety Canada is responsible for funding the evaluation of many crime prevention programs across the country under the National Crime Prevention Strategy(NCPS). These evaluations support a key objective of the NCPS: the development of new knowledge around 'what works' in the Canadian crime prevention context. This panel will provide an opportunity for a selection of evaluators who have worked on NCPS evaluations, to share the innovative evaluation approaches they have used to overcome challenges encountered while working in this unique evaluation field, particularly with vulnerable populations. The panel will also take questions from the audience about how to problem solve when encountering unforeseen evaluation challenges. These lessons learned from the Public Safety Canada Bridge will help to inform the evaluation practice of other evaluators, particularly those working in the social services sector and with vulnerable populations.
