Rubrics are an evaluation specific methodology that can be used in a wide variety of evaluation contexts and situations to build a clear, shared understanding of how quality, value, and effectiveness are defined.

In 2018, the Kinnect Group presented an introduction to rubrics, based on their experience, to Canadian evaluation audiences. The feedback we received was that that people wanted more examples, So, this year, we present and discuss three case examples of rubrics from different contexts, illustrating how rubrics support not only explicit evaluative reasoning but also stakeholder engagement and participation, innovation, adaptive strategy, evaluation validity, communication of results, and use.

The panel will demonstrate how rubrics can be used as a tool for:
. Supporting emergent strategy and innovation
. Increasing evaluation validity
. Ensuring equitable stakeholder voice and participation
. Evaluative synthesis and reasoning
. Evaluation reporting and communication including visualisation of
