Evaluating a rapidly expanding healthcare program in a complex healthcare setting involving many stakeholders is challenging. Timely evaluation deliverable that are relevant to all stakeholders is paramount to sustain engagement and promote evaluation use. In an attempt to incorporate these elements into the evaluation of a provincial healthcare project in Alberta, we conducted large-scale key-informant interviews. Although key-informant interviews are widely used, the scope and timeline of the evaluation made the method and deliverable distinct. Our presentation will focus on evaluation methodology and the way we have used best practices in-group coding and tailored it to fit our evaluation capacity, timeline and scope. We will reflect on our practice and share our story of group coding utilizing Nvivo server, highlighting our successes, challenges and lessons learned.
