In 2016 CES committed to incorporating reconciliation into its values, principles, and practices. The progress has CES made on its path to reconciliation will be briefly presented. This will lead into a participant discussion regarding the role(s) CES and evaluation can play in reconciliation. What should reconciliation look like through a CES lens and an evaluation lens? Participants will be briefly introduced to EvalIndigenous, an EvalPartners global network which was launched in the parliament of Nepal in 2015. EvalIndigenous is attempting to increase the recognition and understanding of evaluation practices within Indigenous contexts and to promote Indigenous people's self-determination of their evaluation agenda. Participants will be then invited to share their successes and challenges related to Indigenous evaluation and identify priorities that should be pursued by CES, as well as possible roles EvalIndigenous and other allies can play in CES's journey to reconciliation. Discussions will be transcribed for sharing with CES and other allies as appropriate.
