Bridging Storytelling and Technology -- A new PhotoVoice app

Dig Insights, in partnership with the Further Education Society, has developed a new photovoice app to help bridge the gap between traditional storytelling and a technological 21st century.
Dig is in the second of a 3-year evaluation of the Going the Distance project. The project, funded by EDSC, supports workplace literacy and essential skills training to help improve employers' ability to recruit, retain and promote Indigenous employees the Tourism and Hospitality industry. The evaluation uses a developmental approach to identify a model that is both replicable and scalable among Indigenous employees across Canada.
Taking the lead from FESA's strength-base approach, Dig developed a rigorous and innovative methodology to measure the impact of the program has had on participants understanding, development and application of their essential skills in their daily lives.
This presentation will include an overview of the pilot project, evaluation approach, and will dive into how the PhotoVoice app has been successful in measuring impact.
